Que Bendici贸n!

November 18, 2019

Hello lovely people,
This week it got bitter cold for a bit! Maybe the humidity makes a big difference, either way it was a bit painful but I also could have dressed warmer haha. We had zone conference in Oshkosh which was amazing! I always refuel my faith and understanding of things at the perfect time馃挏 We talked a lot about feeling inadequate and our position as children and servants of God. We were asked last minute to speak in the YSA sacrament on having the spirit more abundantly, so I studied some scriptures real quick and put together a talk that really helped me to set goals for myself! We also went to Greenbay for a day and I went to the Packers stadium, the houses across the street from it on Lombardi Avenue are very green and yellow, let me tell ya. Wisconsinites are scary passionate.

We met an awesome recent convert from Oklahoma, and did a church tour with some other Sisters and an amazing girl! We went to a campus to teach our favorite Hmong friend. We always meet him at the same couch and tucked in the cushions was this little piece of notebook paper - in a random area of a public college people - and he had written us a note saying he was sick and couldn't find the strength to make it. I kid you not I want to adopt him, even if he's my age. Luckily for social media we were able to find him and contact him and teach him some principles still:) later in the week we met with him and since he grew up in a Hmong religion he tells us all the similarities of what we teach and believe, to the stories in his culture. It's really cool! His prayers are so cute, I wish you could see and hear them. He recognizes the spirit so well and loves God. Our dear friend that is struggling with smoking is still moving on up! I love her devotion and faith - we tucked a picture of Jesus on the front of her cigarette pack so she'd have to move it to get the pack open, and I said "don't move Jesus. Let Jesus move you". She liked that. We had a couple lessons with one of the YSA's girlfriends, she is so happy and cute! I love people that do whatever it takes to find truth. We taught the young kids again this week and learned all about the new Disney+, it sounds fantastic. But the new Book of Mormon videos help a lot with teaching kids! We showed a family the new Christ Child Christmas video, and I could watch it forever! It comes out next week but missionaries have access to it, so if you wanna see it early - and you do- invite the missionaries over to show it to you!!

I found out one of the volunteers at my favorite food pantry lived in North Sydney for a couple years a long time ago! She is from New York and LOVES Dunkin Donuts very passionately. She's a hoot - with a New York accent. We had dinner with cute little families, we played a lottt of hungry hippos at one home with 3 little boys. On our way to another dinner the roads were super slick and it was blizzarding so the traffic multiplied the time to get there a bunch. But alas we did arrive eventually, and safe! We had a couple more Spanish dinners with the Spanish elders, so I only knew tiny bits of what was happening but it was still super fun to remember tiny bits of Spanish and work on my new phrases. One of the elders is teaching me to say "Que Bendici贸n" - "what a blessing"- after anything happens. It's fun, and keeps it uplifting and positive. So that's my mission theme now. Because truly everything that occurs is a blessing in the end. It gets me where the Lord needs me. And I love Him for that.

This week I LOVED Alma 7:19-20
19 For I perceive that ye are in the paths of righteousness; I perceive that ye are in the path which leads to the kingdom of God; yea, I perceive that ye are making his paths straight.
20 I perceive that it has been made known unto you, by the testimony of his word, that he cannot walk in crooked paths; neither doth he vary from that which he hath said; neither hath he a shadow of turning from the right to the left, or from that which is right to that which is wrong; therefore, his course is one eternal round.

Don't let a shadow of yourselves veer off the straight path to the Lord, cause if you veer off, He can't dwell in those crooked paths. Keep them straight. Straight roads lead to a place better than Oz or Wonderland, it's a place that doesn't go away when you wake up. It's eternal life with the God who loves you most. So love Him back.
