Winnebagel and Fainting Goats

August 19, 2019

Hello from Winnebago!! (Winnebagel because YUM)

This week was goodbyes to my lovely short time friends of Appleton,  especially Evie, Sister Brunner and Sister Rose (gma Packers fanatic - see pics). My last days in Appleton we drove by a giant potato tour and both my companions and I live in Idaho, so we took a picture with it of course. Then some ladies running by had us take their picture as well, and a bunch of businessmen came by and took selfies with it. Potatoes bring communities together man. We helped Sister Brunner organize China for a garage sale, and she was showing us her mothers fragile China and guess who knocked it over. Yeah I bet you just stopped breathing, so did I. BUT she was so calm and loving, thank goodness. I inherited a few more small items of which I am most excited about. Then I got to see so many awesome missionaries at transfers, and it makes my heart so dang happy. I love missionaries, one hermana I've only seen and talked to 3 brief times sent me a package. I love her. The spirit around missionaries is so special, and I am so lucky to experience it!

I'm only 20 minutes away from Appleton now, but it is a party and a half. I'm with Sister Goff, who is in her last transfer! And it is just a swell time of figuring out the area since it was closed for a couple months, deep deep cleaning our apartment because elders lived here (live is an assumption), and going to many hours of church! I am so excited to be in YSA, we did a video call with President and Sister Murphy to discuss the YSA goals in the mission and he has big visions!! We are going to be busting our time meeting all the members. My heart is so so happy that President Murphy felt impressed to put me in YSA! I am so excited to uplift and get to know so many people that are my age!! We have already had several service activities, and you all know how much I love doing those. Organizing stores and pulling weeds, both very satisfying. I also have done lots of indexing this week, and I love doing family history work! There is an amazing spirit about it that makes me feel my Savior's love so strongly!

This week I found out I'm not as bad at hitting a volleyball as I've always supposed, I love to drive, and 6 hours at a church feels like years. We cover a family ward as well as the YSA ward, so 2 sacrament meetings, many ward and missionary meetings, and a bunch of awesome people will make this transfer so fun and full of light!! Our days will be packed all week long! Our YSA President and his family had us over for dinner, and they have a hobby farm - because they like animals. We're talking chickens cause the kids wanted some, ducks for their eggs, pigs for their meat, 18 baby goats for their milk, dogs for their presence. But some of the goats are FAINTING GOATS you guys, a breed that falls over when it is scared. So we have this family, and very pregnant Sister Hess chasing goats trying to get them to fall over for us to see hahaha. Highlight of my week, I love Wisconsin. I love big families with a passion, families full of light from this Gospel make me so excited, and I LOVE children. All I do is bond with kids, and old people honestly. And it makes my heart so happy. I love how crazy they both are. They're hilarious. This little boy was running in church yesterday and fell down and just gave up and lied there - same. Also does anyone else get anxiety trying to just grab one piece of bread at sacrament and not accidentally pick up multiple, but you can't pick it up too fast or too slow. Yea definitely failed at that yesterday hahaha.

I love the Book of Mormon so much, I love Joseph Smith's exceeding faith. I love how the Book of Mormon teaches and testifies of families and the power in raising a righteous family. I know that the purest peace is found in the Gospel that Christ taught during His ministry. His example is perfect, and I am so humbled by His perfect love. I invite you all to seek out His love, whether by scripture, prayer, or service. I hope you all are well, and I pray for you all every day!!

Make good choices
