Miracles and HOLLY!!!

June 17,2019

This has been the best week, of possibly my whole life. There is so many things I am feeling, this Gospel changes people!! And Heavenly Father LOVES us so much, I wish I could begin to tell you all how much He loves you.

Earlier this week one of my companions had a feeling we were going to meet a specific older couple. And she knew what they'd look like so we were pumped to get out and talk to people. We talked to everyone we saw and I really had to pee so we were leaving and we saw a guitar statue (Waukesha has tons of them around town) and we stopped to take a picture. My other companion had a feeling we should look like tourists so she called across the street to this couple walking and asked them to take our picture. And they were so polite and loved that we are all here for so long to share about Christ. They took us around to other guitar statues and then invited us to get gelato with them as well. And I can't explain to you all how that conversation was so amazing. We were able to teach them about our beliefs and that was the couple my companion knew we'd find!

Later in the week we talked to the lady who's been meeting with missionaries for 8 years, and she gives all missionaries a marriage prediction and believes she's pretty accurate - so now I have my prediction haha.

We were able to teach a Hindu couple yesterday, and it was amazing! They are so excited to read the Bible and Book of Mormon!

A few weeks ago I mentioned we were teaching Holly, and we've been teaching her every week. Yesterday I invited her to be baptized and July 20 is about to be the best day of my mission!!! Inviting through the Spirit was the most powerful thing I've ever experienced. I almost cried when I was inviting her because I could feel our Saviors love for her so strongly. The Spirit was so strong, I couldn't stop smiling and imagining how happy this next step is going to be for her! Imagine how much our Heavenly Father rejoices when we turn to Him!!

I got to see some of my MTC friends for a training a few days ago, which was so much fun! And I have made so many best friends on my mission already!

Ladies and gentlemen, the Lord provides a way when we are faithful. And being faithful means not only believing that miracles can happen, but placing ourselves in situations where miracles can occur! Put actions into your prayers! I love studying the Book of Mormon so much!! It truly testifies of Christ on every single page, and I invite all of you to read some of it every day and tell me how it has helped you! I love being on a mission and I love Wisconsin way more than I thought I could! I hope you all are having a blast, if you need anything, let me know! I'd love to hear more updates on what's happening. Make good choices!

I love you all, so much!

Miracles and Directing Traffic and No Car

June 10, 2019

Hello! This past week has been so busy and fun! First of all, right after I sent the email last week we ended up seeing a broken down car in the middle of a busy intersection. So what do missionaries do other than walk to the middle of that busy intersection and direct traffic away from that lane? It was a lot of pressure but you feel powerful when you part a busy intersection of cars. Imagine what parting the red sea must've felt like!

We have a mission car to use, but it had to go in the shop for most of the week so we were walking far and wide in hot weather! But that's when we started finding miracles! And that's been the theme of my mission - once we are out of our comfort zone we step into the Lord's comfort zone! I have seen this so much, especially this past week! We get to meet so many various backgrounds and personalities. We went to a woman's home to check up on her and meet her but she wasn't home, and her nephew was home and we were able to begin teaching him! Then we saw some random apartments far away and we went, and the first apartment we buzzed was a Hindu man from India who wants to learn more about Jesus! Right when we said the Church of Jesus Christ he led us into his apartment haha. I have met so many awesome people!

Our mission president is finishing his mission at the end of the month and we went to his departing devotional, and it was so spiritual and amazing to hear his story! His wife and him both served in Germany, then served a couples mission in Germany, and now in Wisconsin. And for anyone who doesn't know, I thought I was going to Germany 101% but I literally got sent to the closest thing to Germany outside of it! Wisconsin is all German influence and full of Germans! The Lord is so aware of our progress, our needs, and I love His plan way more than any plan I could make for my own life. I love teaching this Gospel, I love the hope it brings, and I love my Heavenly Father! Prayer is such a powerful thing we can use at any time, and I know that Heavenly Father is eager to hear from us and bless us, for us to turn to Him and show our faith, and I know that God won't lie to us so I invite you all to pray about your worries, your joys, and especially about the Book of Mormon! It truly testifies of Christ on every page - and shows that God loves all people and all nations!

I hope you all have an amazing week! I love each of you dearly, and I love to hear from you all. If you need anything let me know!
Love,
Sister Davis

Teaching and a Sock Closet and a Slug

June 3, 2019

This past week was an adventure!

We did lots of door knocking this week and taught a few lessons. We met Holly yesterday who is SO prepared! She is so kind and we are so excited to keep teaching her! We also taught Maria this week - she has a very unique story so keep her in your prayers! This week I was looking in one of our closets and found a large print bible, and then later that evening some Elders asked if anyone had a large print bible! Which was a super cool happenstance haha.

We do service at a medical equipment volunteer place where people rent lots of medical equipment for free! It's an amazing program! And we spent all of our time organizing socks - medical/TED/compression - which was so random but good haha.

Last week I ate a super spicy pepper in one bite and all the Elders were crying when they ate theirs haha. Then the Hmong Elders were making pho and I ate a slug (yes I ate a live slug) off of some basil - and so did Elder Clark so we are slug-buddies! Then during Zone Conference I saw my best bud Sister Hunt!!
We play a sort of tag game with the Elders in our district and we have a 'tag you're it' card that we leave in their car and vice versa - and with a Piggly Wiggly card we got into their apartment and left the card on their fridge haha.
I am loving the work and all of the missionaries I'm out here with! There is no place I'd rather be endlessly tired but excessively joyful! The world is full of miracles!!
